We also encourage our employees to volunteer to help make a difference,” says David Zavitz, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Peel Children’s Aid Foundation is providing a much needed service to families in our community and we are happy to be part of it.” The trucking company transported 10,000 articles of new clothing to a local warehouse, from where social workers deliver it to impoverished families in the community. The foundation organizes the donation program to give warm and stylish clothes and help families in need. The clothes may also help boost the confidence of kids who might otherwise struggle to fit in with their peers at school. “Our clothing program wouldn’t exist without the support of Canada Cartage and we are grateful for their generosity,” says Catherine Hinton, executive director at Peel Children’s Aid Foundation. Throughout the year, Peel Children’s Aid Foundation runs other community-minded programs to help children at-risk, teens and families, such as giving funding for enrichment programs for children, relief assistance, school supplies, bursaries for post-secondary education, and support for teenage mothers.
